[Thanks to AS for sharing his favorite career resources list consisting of resources related to the wellness fields.]

Wellness1) http://careerplanning.about.com/cs/occupation and 2) www.payscale.com

These websites were helpful in finding general information regarding national statistics for various careers. They give a median annual salary, educational requirements and a general description of a normal workday. They also provided information regarding the future demand of specific careers. Payscale.com was especially helpful because you can tailor your career specific salary search to a certain location and educational background.

3) In addition to these two sites, I also performed research via a Nutrition textbook for a class I am currently enrolled in. This book is Nutrition for Health, Fitness & Sport by Melvin H. Williams and is specific to the nutritional demands for health, fitness and sport. This book is extremely useful for researching the actual work of a nutritionalist.

4) http://www.apextherapy.net/About_Us.php?section=Clinic_Locations&PHPSESSID=622df074aa29dd0529be0468398a7593

This site belongs to a business near my in-laws’ house that I have driven by hundreds of times. I always look at the building and imagine it would be a good place to work. Checking out this site gave me a good insight to the work environment that is to be expected in a physical therapy career.

5) http://www.fitforlife.com/

This is a business I have driven by in the past as well. Their website has an FAQ link about there services and gave me an insight as to what type of tasks are required as a dietician, nutritionalist, and life coach. They also have a link for career opprotunities with job descriptions; however, no jobs were available.

6) In addition to these resources, I have checked Craigslist.com for actual job availability. I like to do this because it informs me of the demand for various careers, as well as actual salary, hour and job description information. I feel browsing Craigslist can be a valuable tool for those who are interested in making a career change but indecisive on what field to get into.

My favorite resource among those listed above is Payscale.com. I have visited sites in the past with career pay information, but this site was more specific to location, education and level of experience. It was also easy to use.
